Cycling Milestone Ahead : The MS 150

150 miles.

San Antonio to Corpus Christi.

On a bike.

I'm still in shock, but I'm also fully registered to participate in the Valero MS 150 "Bike to the Beach" ride which benefits the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Joel, Bill and Marco did this ride last year and while they note the challenges I will face they also comment on how rewarding the experience was for them.

So...here I go! I feel a little bit better about the first 90 miles of this route, which ends in Beeville, TX since I just recently completed about 1/2 that distance on Saturday. I'll continue to train with rides of increasing distance in the weeks following up to the MS150 to help me physically...and mentally....prepare myself.

You can help support my fund-raising efforts by making a donation to the MS Society in my name. Any amount you can afford is greatly appreciated. Your donation will benefit a great cause and will help inspire & support me as I embark on this great journey!

Wish me luck folks and keep those wheels rolling!

Hey Justin,

Ran across your blog while reading Jill's adventures in Juneau. Nice website. Just visited San Antonio and Austin and am making plans to relocate to Austin from Washington. I am a professional photographer also.

Hi Richard! Thanks for paying a visit. I took a peek at your photography website and was very impressed. Beautiful photos that I know your clients are thrilled with. Do you cycle as well? Take care!

Good Evening... I wanted to say that I enjoy coming here and reading about your cycling adventures. (Maybe because I'm in some of them) Either way I look forward to future rides leading to the big MS150 and beyond -

Olive! Great to see you here. You deserve a lot of credit for getting me into road biking. So...THANK YOU. I'm glad I allowed your peer pressure to work! ;-)

Hi Justin,
I came across your blog doing a google search while I was attempting to find some info about an MS Event..and I see that you are doing that long bike event to raise money for MS~ I just wanted to say "Thank You". I am a stay at home mother of 2 young children and was hit with the words "you have MS" back in Sept 2006- my friends and family do the MS Walks, but I have to say that I am so very proud of all who do these bike rides... its not just a ride~ it is for a Huge purpose, and I Thank YOU! Yes, I struggle with MS here and there, but its people like you that do these things for a cause and help people like me have HOPE! Keep up the good work.. Feel free to check out our TEAM LIVE LAUGH MS WALK PAGE (under my friends). I still get goose bumps when I see the pictures of my friends and family doing something for ME and MS! Thanks Again!
